David Gest, ex-husband of Liza Minelli, grew up next door to the Jackson 5. In this odd YouTube video, he returns to walk down Memory Lane. Unfortunately, no one is home and the front gate is locked -- that is, until Tito shows up and reminds him how they used to scale the fence to sneak in.
heh that was weird but thanks for posting it. I always loved the Encino house much better than Michael's ranch, so it was nice to see a little more than just the usual err terrasse view.
ReplyDeleteIt was great too to see Tito and his kids so relaxed and at ease. They really aren't that 'diva' like, you know, like some so called superstars think they are just after making one hit. It's nice to see that. ;)

It is weird, isn't it? Mrs. Jackson talks to David Gest like June Cleaver used to talk to Eddie Haskell (if you're old enough to remember "Leave It to Beaver," you'll understand the reference).
ReplyDeleteA while back I posed a review David wrote of the 1972 J5 concert at the LA Forum. It really amuses me how many of the reviews were written by friends and associates.
Really nice to see. Yeow, what a strange guy, but Tito was supercool.
ReplyDeleteAh no, that reference was lost on me as, well, I'm *only* 42, and French (living in France) so, I don't think that show even made it to this side of the pond. (as americans use to say)
ReplyDeleteSo I had to google it. Isn't internet a wonderful thing? *winks*
